Designate COTA on New Year’s Eve
Night Owl Service on High St. (#21) and W. Broad St. (#222) until 3 a.m.
COLUMBUS – Leave the keys at home this New Year’s Eve, and welcome 2013 in the safest way – Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) is offering late night service on lines #21 and #222.
On Monday, December 31, 2012, COTA will be providing late night service every 30 minutes beginning at 7 p.m., lasting until 3 a.m. on January 1 on the lines below:
Night Owl line #21 operates along High Street between Whetstone Park in Clintonville and West Sycamore Street in German Village, serving Ohio State, Short North, Park Street, the Arena District Downtown, and the Brewery District. The last northbound trip leaves Front & Sycamore at 2:45 a.m.
Line #222 operates between Downtown and the new Hollywood Casino with limited stops on West Broad Street. The last outbound trip leaves Hollywood Casino at 2:22 a.m.
To transfer buses, the two lines meet at the intersection of N. High Street and Nationwide Boulevard.
Passengers can ride either line for $2 each trip and request a free transfer ticket, good for two hours, when paying the fare. Alternatively, Day Passes are available on the bus, and good for unlimited riding, for $4.50. Drivers will accept Day Passes activated on Dec. 31, 2012 from customers boarding the bus between midnight and 3 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2013.
